Important!! New Updated Design for Standard Recap Tires

The Agri-TRAC has been updated to fit the tread pattern of the new standard recap tires in production since 2017. Agri-TRACs manufactured before 2020 will not fit the new recap design.

When ordering, you must specify to your supplier the number of treads on the tires you are equipping with the Agri-TRAC.

Recap Tires

The recap tire is standard equipment on many new as well as older systems and is found on almost every farm using center pivot irrigation. They can be moved to whichever tower they are needed for the Agri-TRAC. Recap tires are required because the tread lugs are strong enough to climb the Agri-TRAC “ladder” when the tower is in trouble.:

The updated standard recap tires manufactured after 2017 come in the following sizes:

11 X 22.5 with 40 tread lugs

(20 per side as shown)

11 X 24.5 with 42 tread lugs

(21 per side as shown)

Legacy Recap Tires (Tires manufactured before 2017)

11 X 24.5 and 11 X 22.5 – 32 tire lugs

(16 per side as shown)

Clearance between tire and tower structure:

An additional 2 inches of space between the tire and the tower structure must be provided for the Agri-TRAC. Some center pivots wheels have offset centers, such as Valley and T-L planetary drives. These wheels can be reversed to provide the needed clearance. Other systems require the Agri-TRAC SPACER to be installed between the wheel and the gearbox to provide the necessary clearance.

CAUTION ! Tower misalignment can result in unwanted stress on the tower structure especially when the system is being run dry.
